Frederick Henry Grubb was born on 27th May 1887. He was a member of Catford Cycling Club and took part in the 1912 Stockholm Olympics where he won 2 silver medals in the individual road race and the team road race. In 1914 he set up his own company manufacturing bicycles, which carried on until 1978 when the trading name died out. He died in 1949.
