Charles Henry 'Charlie' Bartlett

Charles Henry Bartlett was born on 6th February 1885 in Bermondsey. He was a member of Catford Cycling Club and competed in the 1908 London Olympics. He won a gold medal in the 100km track race, completing the course in a World Record time of 2 hrs 41 mins 48.6 secs. At 23 he was the youngest of the finalists. He died on 30th November 1968 in Enfield.
