Alfred Hearn Healey was born on 13th July 1879 in Horncastle, Lincolnshire. He was a member of Blackheath Harriers and won the AAA High Hurdle title in 1909. In 1906 he represented Great Britain in the 1906 Intercalated games in Athens where he competed in the 100 metres and the 110 Hurdles where he won the silver medal. The 1906 Games are no longer considered to be part of the official Olympics.


The 1906 Intercalated Games or 1906 Olympic Games were an international multi-sport event which was celebrated in Athens, Greece. They were at the time considered to be Olympic Games and were referred to as the "Second International Olympic Games in Athens" by the International Olympic Committee. Medals were distributed to the participants during these games but are not now officially recognized by the IOC.
